Fun Saturday

There's an annual event to welcome new students (Maba = Mahasiswa Baru) at Fasilkom. The event is PMB (Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru), and I am appointed as one of the committee. No, Not the steering committee, but my position is as a security. Why security? Well, that's a story that I would love to share, but not this time (maybe) :D

This Saturday, we held a Fun Saturday event that (should've) involved all Maba. In fact, nearly half of them didn't come. I wonder whether they were having fun with their family or just sleeping for the whole day just like what I always do every Saturday and Sunday. On normal days, I sleep in classes :O

As usual, I stood at one of the posts outside the round building of Fasilkom at 6 am. I was having a runny nose, because the day before I went home too late at night. The night breeze made me catch a cold; thus I looked so pale in the morning. I stood alone on my post, waiting for late-comers to be the victim of my vicious shouts that make them tremble down on their knees (no, rly. I can't shout)

Those Maba had to stand in columns of their mentor groups. I was amazed. More than half of them came late. MOAR VICTIM OF MY DEVILISH SHOUT LOLZ *insert your favorite devil smiley here*

The next hour those Maba were ordered to do some kind of body stretching, and the operator whom was chosen from among themselves did something which looked like a gymnastic for pregnant women to me. And no, I wasn't interested to join them, because I'm not pregnant. WTF WERE YOU THINKING?? Later, they were ordered to pick up dead leaves and rubbish from the ground as a part of "environment caring action".

One hour later, they were ordered to move to the sports field, and do the proper kind of sports (at last) such as soccer, basketball, badminton, or volleyball. I didn't join them because it would look a little odd to see someone who scores a goal when playing soccer and then sneezes five times in a row as a celebration for the goal (man I wish I could join the soccer game if only I hadn't got a runny nose)

There was a torture nice treat for those Maba after the sports time. And It would ruin your fun if I write anything about it here.

The fun part of the Fun Saturday/Sabtu Ceria/whatyoupeoplemaycallit was the lunch time! All groups of Maba were ordered to bring food for at least the whole people in their group and three more food for three more people whom they have to ask to join the lunch. So I jumped into the party and hunt for the most delicious food that I could find. I would love to join in any group who brought a Hoka-hoka bento or Pizza Hut. Or even sizzling steak. But I couldn't find any.

[A good friend of mine asked if I would join his group]

Kubo: "Man, why don't you join us, we have a lot of spare food here"

Me: "I'd love to, if it is either a steak, chicken gordon blue, or pizza."

Kubo: "wtfgotohellandfindfoodtherejustjoinusquickly"

Me: "kk i'll join"

[Later he told me something]

Kubo: "Look, you rly should join your girl's group. It's a perfect chance for you"

Me: "wtfwhosaidthatishouldjoinyourgroupinfirstplace"

Kubo: "No no no I'm flexible, you rly should join her if you want to"

Me: "Uhm.. I..."

Kubo: "what?"

Me: "I... uh..."

Kubo: "you are gay?"

[Somewhere deep in Uganda, a man slaps his head]

Me: "Nah, I'm sick today, and I wouldn't want to burst my sneeze at her five times in a row while chewing some rice and a fried chicken"

Kubo: "lol don't think of anything like that you stupid. That's only the worst case that would happen while you're eating"

[The next second, I sneezed five times in a row at him]

[The man in Uganda slaps his head again]

There isn't much that I can share about anything that happen after the lunch, because I spent most of the time in the laptop lab. Let's just say that the day ended happily.
